No more free tomatoes from your neighbor?

Organic gardeners are circulating emails asking for home growers to unit and get political. They see Big Brother stepping into the garden and making it illegal for you to give those extra tomatoes to your neighbor, let alone sell them at a produce stand. What’s up? HR 875.
It’s a tasty morsel that the sponsoring Congresswoman just happens to be married to an exec at Monsanto, major supporter of the genetically-modified food campaign. That campaign is based on the financial success of Round-up, the Monsanto weed killer. I recently blogged about some environmental issues connected with making Round-Up.
There are currently competing food inspection bills in Congress that seem to have more chance of passing.
