BusinessWeek article questions safety of batteries in electric cars
Remember a few years back when flaws in lithium-ion batteries caused a spate of overheated products and even a few fires? Now, suppose that lithium-ion battery was running your electric car.
That’s the thesis behind this “what-if” article published by BusinessWeek. Could spark a whole new set of safety regulations and warning disclosures for the automobile industry. Of course, we’ve got a long way to go before this becomes a mainstream issue, but it doesn’t hurt to ask the right questions beforehand.
