Fortune Data Centers snags $900,000 for data center redesign
Nothing like cold cash to make a data center redesign project a little more justifiable.
Fortune Data Centers just snagged at $900,000 incentive award from PG&E as part of its participation in the utility company’s High Tech Energy Efficiency program. Businesses can earn incentives for technology projects that include the following: virtualization or consolidation technologies, massive array of idle disk (MAID) storage systems, high-efficiency air-conditioning units and power distribution systems, management software and so on. Here are more details on the rebate/incentive program.
PG&E granted the incentive for Fortune Data Centers’ redesign work on its flagship data center, which will save an estimated 10,448,592 kilowatts per year, or enough electricity to power 1,500 homes annually. The power usage effectiveness (PUE) ratio for the facility is now 1.37 compared with the industry average of 2.0. Here is more information on what Fortune Data Centers did to earn the moolah.
