Don't inhale...those emissions wafting in from China
They are apparently running out of landfill space in China. So now they plan to burn all the trash left over after they make stuff to sell to Americans. And then the fumes in the air just naturally drift around the globe.
Among the stuff they’re putting into the air are dioxins and mercury compounds. It is much more expensive to build incinerators with pollution scrubbers than it is to simply spew the crud into the only atmosphere we have. Incinerator ash and other solid waste go into landfills, a separate problem. Landfills produce methane which is a worse greenhouse gas than CO2. What’s a booming economy to do with all that stuff? Maybe China needs millions more self-storage units. That’s what we seem to do here in the U.S.
