CALPERS (California Public Employees’ Retirement System) just announced it will put $60 million into Khosla Ventures’ greentech fund. Khosla’s fund already has about 70 investments in the green tech sector and has raised over a quarter billion dollars. Past investments by Khosla have ranged from biofuel to solar to wind to smart grid.
CALPERS is one of the largest retirement funds on earth. The CALPERS investment means there’ll be significant disclosure of where and how the money is invested.
Here’s CALPERS’ document on the deal. If you go to this website you can find Khosla’s Powerpoint on their investments.
