A survey of American drivers show many are interested in owning a plug-in electric. The range between reharges needs to be at least forty miles. Major auto makers will begin selling electric cars int he US next year, they promise.
Pike Research found that almost half of Americans are ready for plug-ins and almost 2/3 say they’d willingly pay more for such a car than a standard gas-guzzler. If public attitudes continue the electric car business may get off to a good start. As ever, gasoline prices will be a major conisderation, as will any corporate or government rebate programs.
