VW is unveiling new models at a German car show this week and one of them will be the electric-powered E-Up. Production is to begin in 2013 and the car will have a range of around 80 miles per charge.
VW is engineering the car for light weight: the electric motor, a single-speed transmission and differential will be a single unit.
