Developers plan integrated platform for managing energy, resource conservation goals
It must be awfully annoying for businesses to have to deal with point applications for environmental/energy management. Plainly speaking, these things should be just part of overall management tools associated with compliance, sustainability and overall operational excellence initiatives.
Someone must have clued in ESS, which provides Environmental, Health and Safety and Crisis Management software, and Hara, which develops Energy and Environmental and Energy Management software, because the two companies have decided to integrate their two applications together. So, that means your organization can track compliance, greenhouse gas management AND other sustainability programs form one dashboard. The initial solution will be specific to companies in the oil and gas, utility and power, natural resources and chemical industries.
By the way, methinks I smell a potential roll-up in the works for a broad suite of environmental, energy management and other applications that handle this burgeoning area of concern for businesses large and small. When I visited the ESS Web site to pull a link for this post, I noticed the company has been acquired by IHS, which also owns EnvironMax, Dolphin Software and Environmental Software Providers.
