The people over at NASDAQ who make up stock indexes have come up with a new one in their eco-related products: the Clean Edge Smart Grid Infrastructure Index. You can follow its performance through the symbol QGRD. Or, you can watch historical performance at this link.

The companies included in the index were chosen in conjunction with Clean Edge, which is a clean-tech research firm. There are 29 different participants at launch, including “pure plays” and diversified players. I’m going to list the pure plays only: American Cuperconductor, Comverge, Echelon, EnerNOC, ESCO Technologies, General Cable, ITC Holdings, Itron, Jinpan International, NGK Insulators, Pike Electric, Power-One, Quanta Services, RuggedCom, SatCon Technology, Schneider Electric, and SMA Solar Technology.

There now we both know who to suss out.
