Fuel efficient cars? Hyrbids run over competition.

Among 2010 model cars available in the U.S. the EPA says nine of the ten best for fuel efficiency are hybrids. Only the Smart Car from Daimler, with really just a two-person capacity, made it into the top ten. Prius again led the fleet. Others in top ten included: Ford Fusion, its Mercury Milan twin, Honda’s Civic and Insight, Nissan’s Altima.
Unless those oil futures drop well below $77, it looks like the future of autos is going to revolve around battery tech, not bigger engines.
HERE ARE THE EPA RATINGS. Included are ratings within various classes of cars as well as vans and small trucks. EPA also gives you the list of least fuel efficient cars.

A diesel hybrid would be more efficient than an ordinary diesel.
