You can only convince some of the people some of the time

The Associated Press asked statisticians to examine the data on global warming and cooling. Their conclusion: the earth is not cooling. Of course, global warming deniers can claim faulty data, even bad placement of thermometers. And besides, as I like to point out, we can still see Miami from the plane.

The AP’s efforts will comfort the uncomfortable, those who already fear global warming. It will not convince thre unconvinced, those who don’t see global warming or find just another one of nature’s little whims to be tolerated.

Recent surveys of American public opinion show popular support of global warming as reality is cooling.
Regardless of what statisticians may find.
