Biden's home state gets federally supported electric car plant
Fisker is an electric car company based in Irvine. They recently announced plans to buy a former GM plant in Delaware to make mid-priced plug-in hybrids. Production is supposed to begin in 2012.
Fisker will use the retooled plant to build their Project Nina cars which are to sell for under $50,000. The Fuskwer Karma sports car costs close to $90,000. Fisker is being aided with over a half billion dollars line of credit from the Department of Energy. Probably didn’t hurt little Delaware to have local favorite Joe Biden in the Vice Presidency.
