Microsoft's "Phase 2" ad campaign - No mention of Vista anywhere

Microsoft’s “Phase 2″ ad campaign is out. These are far better than those awkward Gates/Seinfeld ads, but the odd thing that I couldn’t help but notice is that nowhere does anyone mention Vista.

All the videos are here, go check them out.

Now, I have no idea how these ads will be received, but I am surprised by the fact that I couldn’t come across a single reference to Vista in any of the “I’m a PC” ads. Not one. It’s all “I’m a PC,” and at the end we’re hit with the slogan “Windows: Life without walls.” Even in the pieces by Bill Veghte, Senior Vice President, Online Services & Windows Business Group, not once does he mention Vista.

Not only is there not a single mention of Vista anywhere to be found, I can’t even see Vista anywhere in any of the shots. There’s a grandmother with a notebook but all you see there is a video playing.

Has the “Vista” name become so toxic that Microsoft dare not even mention it in any of the ads? Are these ads designed to help Vista or are they being aired to pave the way for Windows 7?
