Has Apple finally got Safari for the iPhone right?
Is it me or has Apple finally managed to get Safari for the iPhone/iPod touch right?
I ask because I, along with about a dozen people who took the time to email me, have noticed a stark improvement in the reliability of Safari on the iPhone/iPod touch platform since installing the 2.2 firmware update. Prior to installing that update I had a list of websites that would randomly close/crash the Safari browser and dump me to the home screen. Thinking that this was confined to my test iPod touch devices I tried a few iPhones and found the same to be true.
Since installing the latest firmware I’m finding that I can browser all these sites without any problems. Since I find it hard to believe that all the crashy websites have simultaneously fixed some dodgy bit of code, I’m concluding that Apple have finally fixed Safari in the iPhone platform.
Hooray!!!! And about time too … I’ve only had the iPod touch for what, about a year!
Anyone else seeing an increase in reliability since the latest update?
