US Apple Store savings better, still hardly worth getting out of bed for

Predictions that Apple would roll out 15% discounts for Black Friday have been dashed as modest discounts are unveiled.

Here’s a run down:

These are slightly better that the discounts on offer elsewhere (for example, Australia and UK) but they aren’t anywhere near as impressive as what some analysts had predicted.

So, what’s the take away from this? Well, It’s obvious that Apple remains bullish about the economy and doesn’t feel that dramatic price cuts (cuts which a company with billions in the bank and no debt could afford) are necessary to get people spending.

What effect will this have on Apple’s bottom line? Well, we won’t know for sure until the Q1 2009 earnings report, but if we see more price cuts between now and Christmas, then that might signal that Apple was trying to stir up sales a bit.

Many Apple App Store developers however, have decided to offer decent discounts!
