Hello and welcome to Hardware 2.0.

I’m going to assume that if you’re reading this post then you’ll either have come from The PC Doctor blog or you saw a new link on the ZDNet blogs page and got curious as to what this is about (a third alternative is that you’re reading this a few months down the line and you’ve come here to see how this blog got started).

So, what’s this blog about?  What is "Hardware 2.0"?  Well, if you’ve read some of the books I’ve written, such as "Build the Ultimate Custom PC", then you’ll know that I like building, repairing, upgrading and taking apart (not to mention talking about) hardware.  In this blog I’ll be doing just that - taking a close look at the fast-changing face of technology.

Here a general overview of the scope of this blog:

  • Specific aspects of technology - what I like, what I don’t like
  • New hardware - everything from CPUs to games consoles
  • Trends in technology - the direction things are moving in
  • Coming up - a look at what’s on the horizon

This isn’t going to be yet another review blog, here I’m going to keep my focus where it matters - on the upsides (and also the downsides) of the technology from the point of view of the user.

If you want to get in touch with me for any reason then feel free to drop me a line at adrian.kingsleyhughes@gmail.com.  I can’t guarantee a response to every email I receive but rest assured that I will read every one I get.

Oh, and if you’re a regular reader of The PC Doctor blog then don’t worry, that blog will continue as normal!

Right, let’s talk hardware 2.0!
