Microsoft to release "out-of-band" patches this Tuesday
This Tuesday Microsoft is to release two “out-of-band” security patches.
I always look at Microsoft “out-of-band” patches as a big deal because the vulnerabilities in question have to be pretty serious for the Redmond giant to go to the trouble of releasing unscheduled updates.
Details are at present pretty sketchy, but one update relates to a “Moderate” vulnerability affecting Visual Studio, and a “Critical” fix for Internet Explorer that, according to Microsoft, “contains defense-in-depth changes to Internet Explorer to mitigate future attacks related to the Visual Studio bulletin, as well as fixes for vulnerabilities rated Critical that are not currently under active attack”.
More details will be available when the patches are released tomorrow. For now, just prepare yourself for another round of patching this week.
