Adobe Flash player update hassles
OK, here’s an update that you really need to install on all your systems. The new Flash player update patches up around a dozen security vulnerabilities in the software, including one that hackers are actively exploiting. Annoyingly, you might need to install this update more than once.
The latest version of Flash player is no 10.0.32.18. You can grab the update here for Windows, Mac OS and Linux. If you want to know what version you currently have installed, here is a page that will help.
OK, so why might you need to install the update more than once? Well, if you run more than one browser (say Internet Explorer and Firefox), the plugin for each browser will need to be updated. The easiest way to do this is to head over to the download page. You might want to consider using Secunia’s PSI to detect vulnerable code on your PCs.
Things get more complicated if you have other Adobe software installed. For example, if you use Adobe AIR, this needs updating. If you are an Adobe Reader user, then this too is vulnerable and a patch will be released for it later today.
