DVD Jon subpoenaed in Apple anti-trust lawsuit

Jon Lech Johansen, better known to most as “DVD Jon“, has been subpoenaed as part of the ongoing iPod/iTunes antitrust lawsuit.

What do the lawyers want? Basically all communication that Johansen had with Apple regarding making the iPod compatible with unsupported media, and making iTunes content compatible with other non-iPod devices. Of particular interest is documentation elating to circumventing the FairPlay DRM mechanism.

It’ll be interesting to see where this goes. I particularly like Johansen’s tongue-in-cheek response on his blog:
