VMware Player 3.0 has hit the Release Candidate (RC) stage and is available for public download. This latest release brings with it some neat new features.

Without a doubt the coolest feature of VMware Player 3.0 RC is its ability to create virtual machines as well as run them. That now puts VMware Player freeware up there with VirtualBoxand the like.
Along with the ability to create virtual machines, VMware Player 3.0 RC has the following features:
- OpenGL support in guest machines
- ALSA support on Linux guests
- Windows 7 support
- Multiple monitor support
All in all, a really cool bit of freeware.
Note that in order to get the download you’ll need to create an account with VMware, which is pretty painless.
