Sitting here ... in my new Aeron

I just thought I’d post a follow-up to a post I made a while back where I asked if whether the Herman Miller Aeron really is the best office chair available.

Well, yesterday I took delivery of my brand new “stealth black” Aeron and having pulled a few hours in it so far I can say with all honestly that it’s by far the best office chair I’ve ever sat in.  The price stung a bit but I think I can safely say that it’s worth it, especially over time (the warranty is very good - and if anything goes wrong with my chair I fully intend to make use of it).  Not only is it marvelously comfortable and supports me very well, it’s a rock-solid construction.  I’ve taken a close look at some of the engineering and it’s top quality stuff.  The bearings and fittings are all nice and tight and there’s not a loose thread or rough tooling marks anywhere - and since I bought this off Herman Miller anonymously I’m certain it’s not been cherry-picked as the best from a bunch.

I also just want to thank everyone who offered me advice on alternatives and to the dozen or so companies who offered me different chairs to try out - I really couldn’t take you up on your generous offers because I’d end up with the PC Doc HQ being hip-deep in chairs.
