Sony recalls 69,000 Vaio AC adapters

Sony has issued a mandatory recall of 69,000 Vaio AC adapters.
A joint statement issued by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Sony indicates that some 69,000 Vaio AC adapters are now being recalled because of a possible shock hazard.
The recalled adapters have the following adapter number:
Sony has sold this type of adapter over a four-year period, from September 2005 to October 2009. The adapter was sold with the following notebooks:
The following docking stations are also affected:
According to the CPSC so far there have been no injuries or incident reports were filed in the United States.

Anyone owning an affected adapter is urged to unplug the adapter and not use it again.
