Sony recalls 69,000 Vaio AC adapters

Sony has issued a mandatory recall of 69,000 Vaio AC adapters. A joint statement issued by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Sony indicates that some 69,000 Vaio AC adapters are now being recalled because of a possible shock hazard. The recalled adapters have the following adapter number:  Sony has sold this type of adapter over a four-year period, from September 2005 to October 2009. The adapter was sold with the following notebooks: The following docking stations are also affected: According to the CPSC so far there have been no injuries or incident reports were filed in the United States.  The Sony-CPSC phone number is (877)-361-4481.
Anyone owning an affected adapter is urged to unplug the adapter and not use it again.
