I’m happy to introduce our new Home Theater blog, the latest to join the ZDNet blog lineup. I’m pulling double duty here, as I already handle the SOHO networking blog—and there’s more and more overlap between the two categories these days. With HDTVs and home theater products becoming a greater part of our daily lives, we figured it was high time to cover all the digital entertainment products that hope to invade the living room.

Let’s jump right into some of the hot topics to get things rolling. Feel free to share your opinions on the following questions in our Talkback section:

Have LCDs caught up to plasmas in picture quality?

Is it really worth spending extra money on a 1080p HDTV today?

When will Blu-ray overtake standard-def DVDs in popularity?

Cable, satellite, or fiber optic?

Those should get the discussion rolling. I look forward to bringing you all the latest news from the home theater market, and hearing your views on the latest trends and controversies.
