It’s just before 9am where I am and I haven’t been able to sleep. However, had I been able to sleep, Skype would have woken me up with a ring-ding-a-ling on my mobile phone. “How” you may ask, considering there isn’t a feature to do so.

Well there is, you just have to coax Windows into letting you do it. It’s really a piece of cake once you get your head around the confusing menus and strange configuration. To be honest, I don’t see why you can’t invest in an alarm clock, but it’s nice to know Windows and Skype can work together to get you up in time for lectures.

To see a full image/screenshot gallery showing you how to get Skype to ring you in the morning, ready for morning lectures, click here.

The only thing you’ll need is Skype credits, and if you only use Skype for this service, you’ll top up once and never have to top up again. If you’re not connecting the call, there’s no reason to be billed for it.

Hat tip to the geniuses at iHacked.com for the idea.
