A-list blogger and the "gnome" in the Gnomedex blogger conference and website. That’s Chris Pirillo.

Three weeks ago Thursday, I rode the train up from my Portland home up to the Gnomedex 6.0 conference in Seattle.

I caught one panel in which one of the participants was dialing in via Skype.

Snap. Crackle. Static. Fade-out. Jitter. Latency. Lost packets. Fade in. Then for good measure, back out again.

The production values of that particular panel were less than stellar. Pirillo doesn’t do less than stellar.

Hence the cartoon, and the devastating indictment below.

A not-very-tongue in-cheek indictment, not only of Skype’s call quality, but of Gizmo Project’s and Vonage’s as well.

Yea, and Beavis & Butt-head have gotten older since we saw them last, no?
