Colleague Anne Broache writes that an AT&T-owned store at Times Square in Midtown Manhattan is taking a mailing list for hopeful iPhone buyers.

Anne asked a store employee whether being on that list would guarantee priority for buying an iPhone.

“It depends how accessible you make yourself,” the employee said. “I’m going to call you. If you’re here, you’ll get it.”
