Reader: transferred from SunRocket to TeleBlend and I am still waiting
Just a few minutes ago, I received an email from a reader who has been attempting to transfer his VoIP service from the now-discontinued SunRocket to TeleBlend.
Along with 8×8’s Packet8 service, TeleBlend is one of the two “recommended service providers” suggested by SunRocket creditors as a successor service to their own.
Here’s what this reader writes:
Against my better judgement, I transferred my Sunrocket account to “Teleblend”. The thought did occur to me that they seemed a bit too much like SunRocket, but they promised immediate transfer of my telephone number and no additional equipment. Initially it appeared to work.
Well here it is Monday morning, 5 days after the transfer and I cannot make outgoing calls (I get a busy signal regardless of who I dial). I’ve tried to telephone Teleblend but after the usual recording the call reverts to a “all circuits are busy” announcement.
Although I have a cell phone backup my current worry is that Teleblend now has my credit card number and god knows where that will end up. I just thought your readers who haven’t yet found a VOIP home may want to know my experience.
Update: This reader has just emailed me with some additional perspective.
When I contacted Teleblend last week they DID “transfer” my service and for the last few days I have had service. However today my service is not working and I cannot contact Teleblend. My point was that they appear to have cratered already.
He also makes these points:
1. As far as I can tell there is no way of cancelling their service online.
2. There are no services (voicemail, call forwarding etc) available online.
3. Now that you can’t reach them at the posted 877 number, there may actually be no way to cancel their service.
Other readers, send me your SunRocket account transfer stories.
