During yesterday’s quarterly conference call with analysts, Vonage founder-chair-interim CEO Jeff Citron was asked what he thought of SunRocket’s rapid demise, and how it was handled.

“I was shocked to see the company go from having capital troubles to not signing up new customers and closing its doors,” colleague Maggie Reardon quotes Jeff as saying. “We tried to get as many of those customers as we could, but the demise was far too fast for any of the competitors out there to get to those customers.”

I agree, and think the way the SunRocket death spiral and aftermath was handed will be a “bad practices” case for future business school students.
