At the IT Expo here in Los Angeles, Asterisk-based open source business phone systems maker Fonality is touting HUD (Heads Up Display), its immediately forthcoming $995 call management and display solution free with trixbox Pro Enterprise or Call Center Edition.

That’s HUD screencap at the top of this post.

Fonality also said that its trixbox Pro appliance would soon be expanding its software offering from the trixbox Community Edition to bundled-in, trixbox Pro commercial software.

The upside of all of this Fonality CEO Chris told me, would be a new ability for Asterisk resellers and IT pros to deploy and use trixbox Pro software in a demanding environment that the trixbox Pro Appliance is quite up to the task for.

The trixbox Pro Appliance is a 512 MB of RAM, $999 rack-mounted server with two 80 gigabyte hard disks in RAID-1. Fonality positions the 80 times the storage and 10 times the capacity of similar-priced Asterisk solid-state appliances on the market today.
