Just a quick note this a.m. to mark that Digium (The Asterisk Company) digium-the-asterisk-company.gif has just announced its one millionth download in 2007 of its open-source  Internet telephony solution.

This has been an upbeat year for Huntsville, Alabama-based Digium.  Four possible quarters this year now marks 24 consecutive quarters in the money.

Carrying the flag forward has been the Asterisk Appliance (AA50), a standalone embedded Asterisk-based PBX targeted for small to medium businesses (2-50 users), remote branch offices of larger organizations (2-50 users per site), and managed service providers for on-premise CPE-based solutions with SIP or IAX trunking.

AA50 also offers a hybrid solution alternative combining VoIP applications and legacy telecom equipment The AA50 also offers a hybrid solution alternative (a combination of VoIP applications using legacy telecom equipment) for business users not quite ready to jump into the deep end of the pool.

Just in case you have forgotten- or really want to know, or both, the AA50 is available in the following configurations: VoIP Only (S800i), Eight FXO (S808B), and Four FXS with Four FXO (S844B).
