Poll: now that the 16GB iPhone is out, will you buy one?
Yes, the 16GB iPhone is official. If you are of the mind$et, you can order one now. $499 for the device itself.
How much of a stimulus for iPhone sales will this new model be?
Not much, IMHO. I don’t get the sense that there are all that many iPhone-purchasing holdouts who were waiting for a 16GB model. $100 more for 8 more GB. I don’t see a widely applicable return-on-investment here.
Plus:
The economy is not so hot and not everyone has $499 burning a hole in their wallets, and;
Steve burned us once by moving the initially priced $599 8GB iPhone down to $399 within just a couple months after debut. So I am betting some potential 16GB buyers are waiting for the price to go down to $449, or even $399.
Maybe we’ll see some gradual movement as customer contracts with other carriers cycle out. Or maybe not.
You’re the best judge of that.
And so…
