Hey, Kim: you don't know (modular) jack!

Fellow VoIP blogger Ted Wallingford has caught syndicated consumer tech columnist Kim Komando in another uninformed screed?about VoIP.

Ted notes that in today’s USA Today, Kim tends to overstate the high price of unlimited local and long distance VoIP calling.

Worse than that, Kim says that if you want to use more than a single analog phone with your VoIP service, you’ll have to fiddle with a pain-in-the-butt cordless phone system.

"Again, not true," Wallingford writes.?"All you need to do is unhook the phone company lines from your house, plug your VoIP ATA into one modular jack in your home, and voila, all the other modular jacks in your home will have VoIP dial-tone."

And, I may add, Kim says nothing about softphones.

Ted’s right. Kim,you don’t know (modular) jack.??
