The Share Skype site has both a transcript and a downloadable MP3 of a call that an active U.S. Marine Corps member named "David" placed from Okinawa to Japan.

Here’s three reasons you might want to listen in on the call:

To judge the call quality. Keep in mind that this is a Skype-to-Skype call, though.

To assess the effectiveness of Hot Recorder, a third-party utility that records calls, edits call-related audio artifacts, and then converts the call to a .wav file for further processing.

Because David’s story, as he describes in this call, is an interesting one, much in keeping with the U.S. Marine Corps’ enduring tradition of honorable service.
