Telus tells us: watch out for our residential VoIP
Darren Entwistle, CEO of Vancouver, B.C.-based telephony giant Telus Corp., says the company plans to get into residential VoIP services in Alberta, British Columbia and eastern Quebec by the end of this year.
Telus already offers commercial-grade IP services, including its hosted and managed IP-One brand.
Entwistle (just had a momentary mind-association flashback to watching the late Who bassist John Etwistle in concert) also told attendees at the 2005 Canadian Telecom Summit in Toronto yesterday that Telus is considering starting a tv service.
Such a service would be offered in part, to be competitive with product bundling offered by Rogers Communications and other Canadian cable companies.
