Yes, you read it right…

Over on the Skype-run, Share Skype blog, Jaanus, who heads up Skype’s Forums, posted this interesting nugget a little earlier today:

"A little bird flew by and whispered me that Skype is soon going to hand out some services you’d normally pay for. And you don’t have to do anything, other than just go and claim your free services. More updates on this coming soon to skype.com and this site. This will be a time-limited offering, so stay alert."

Hmm, so what are some Skype services you’d, umm,"normally pay for?"

Like SkypeOut- Skype’s outbound calling service where Skype users can call non-Skype subscribers?

I went to the Skype site and found this Free SkypeOut Days page. There will be four such days this month.

Skype says that on Free SkypeOut Days you’ll be able to redeem 10 minutes of credit for SkypeOut calls and it won’t cost you a thing.

On Free SkypeOut Days, a "get a free Skype gift" button will appear on your account page. If you click on it, you’ll be able to claim your 10-minute credit.
