InternetNews.com reports that AOL is likely to roll out a video VoIP component.

From reading this report, it appears this feature will be a significant upgrade of the Live Video IM feature already offered in current versions of AOL’s popular AIM instant messaging product.

Indications are this new contain the following components:

An upgraded interface to AIM, quite likely a forthcoming build of AIM Triton, which went live earlier today;

A softphone based on designs provided by Pingtel, which makes IP PBX software.

AOL is expected to release further details- if not the product package itself- at the Fall 2005 VON (Voice over Net) trade show, which starts Monday, September 18 in Boston.
