Why is Google so cocky about the mounting multi-billion dollar copyright infringement lawsuits its YouTube faces? Because YouTube has the fans!

Google CEO Eric Schmidt takes great pleasure in letting video content owners know that they need YouTube more than YouTube needs them. YouTube King Hurley also takes every opportunity to signal to would be detractors that YouTubers trump copyright any time, as does the YouTube marketing exec, Suzie Reider, as well.

YouTube confidence is so great that it is even standing up to military might, the IT infastructure might of the U.S. military, that is.

Hurley to the U.S. Department of Defense upon its blocking of access to YouTube on Defense Department computers:

“They said it might be a bandwidth issue, but they created the Internet, so I don’t know what the problem is,” according to AP reports.

YouTube is “trying to work with the Pentagon in hopes the military will reverse course or at least partially repeal the ban.”

King Hurley’s ace in the military hole: The U.S. Military NEEDS us, after all doesn’t the U.S. Deparment of Defense have its own YouTube Channels?

WILL YOUTUBE WIN OVER THE PENTAGON?
