Google and click fraud, Google vs. Microsoft, Google and Privacy, Google Diversification…all topics I probed this year, and all represented among the top ten read posts at my Digital Markets Blog in 2006.

Google analysis swept my top ten stories, accounting for nine of the ten. The number one read story honor, however, goes to Digg: YouTube, Digg, MySpace: How much is a non-paying ‘user’ worth?.

My Web 2.0 story last July was Dugg, creatively. Digger “flernk” submitted my story to Digg, while adding a bit of his own spin:

Digg user, you are worth $2

You lousy, freeloading, web 2.0ing, social networking, non-contributing internet user. You ruin everything.

YouTube, Digg, MySpace: How much is a non-paying ‘user’ worth? garnered 2122 Diggs and 160 Digger comments.
