From the “funny timing” files: Anonymous Microsoft blogger Mini-Microsoft has been removed from Facebook by the Facebook rules police.

Mini-Microsoft gets tossed from FacebookOn October 1, Mini posted that Facebook officials had removed the Mini-Microsoft profile from the social network.

Some of Mini’s fans wondered whether the move was an indication that Microsoft might, indeed, be investing in Facebook, as has been rumored over the past week. But Mini explained in his comments that he was cut because of violating one of Facebook’s (seemingly less-than-well-enforced) tenets:

“Regarding Facebook, one of the Terms Of Use is not using an alternative identity. (Adjusts collar.) Ahem,” Mini blogged. “I’m too boring to violate any of the other more salacious terms.”

Shouldn’t there be some kind of clause protecting Facebookers who shroud themselves with the cloak of anonymity so that they don’t risk being fired? I was one of Mini’s many Facebook friends and I was in favor of him being part of “the social.”

Speaking of coincidental timing, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer has gone on record proclaiming that Facebook is at risk of being a mere fad. So what if Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg was seen on the Microsoft campus recently? Nothing to see here, folks… move along.
