I’ve been having a ton more followers of my Twitter feed lately and just added the Evernote feed to my account. I then found out that Ars Technica posted a review of Evernote and also revealed the new iPhone formatted Evernote site. As readers know, I am a big fan of Evernote and as they continue to improve the product my usage continues to increase.

iPhone-optimized Evernote client improves an already great serviceThis new optimized iPhone site allows you to access your same Evernote web account that you can access from your web-enabled phone, Mac, Linux or Windows PC. Notes preview perfectly on the iPhone and with functionality like this the iPhone starts to look better and better than my other mobile devices for keeping me connected. I was thinking about buying the HTC Touch Dual when it is released for the U.S. 3G networks, but the 3G iPhone may be a more compelling choice if the hardware is improved too.

Tapping on the Menu button pops up a screen that lets you create a Quick note, refresh your results, and sign out. The Quick note feature lets you enter text in a box in the top half of the display, add tags for your ntoe, and file the note under your selected notebook.

Evernote for the iPhone

The real power of Evernote is the search functionality and the iPhone-optimized version does not disappoint here either. Your search term is highlight in yellow in each note where it is found. You can email, zoom in on, or delete notes that you select in the search results. Selecting the email option pops up another page where you can add recipients (manually entered) and then add an optional message before sending off the note. The program does not integrate with the iPhone email client, but uses a web interface to email off the note. Search results do take a bit of time when you are just connected via EDGE and I really can’t wait for 3G on the iPhone.

If you are not already using Evernote, please let me know if you want an invite since I still have several available. You can reach me at palmsoloATgmailDOTcom.
