T-Mobile Germany announces the MDA Vario IV, an HTC Diamond-like device with a QWERTY keyboardI am pretty excited about the upcoming HTC Diamond, especially when it comes to the U.S. with 3.5G data support. I saw the press release from T-Mobile Germany announcing the previously rumored HTC Raphael (aka T-Mobile MDA Vario IV). This newest device has the cool TouchFLO 3D technology and UI seen on the HTC Diamond, but then takes it even further with a 640×480 VGA touch screen display and slide-out QWERTY keyboard (with a dedicated number row). The Mobile Phone Helpdesk has lots of photos and details on this new device, the HTC Diamond (MDA Compact IV), and HTC Advantage 7510 (Ameo 16GB).

Other specifications of this powerful device include a Qualcomm 528MHz processor powering Windows Mobile 6.1 with a whopping 512MB ROM and 256MB RAM, integrated WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS receiver, and FM radios, microSD card slot, and 3.2 megapixel camera. WOW, bring this bad boy quad-band GSM and tri-band HSDPA/UMTS and I’ll be sold. HTC is looking a bit like Sony in the old days with the CLIE with all of these new devices. The great thing is that there are devices for every segment of the population so you can choose which device works best for you.

There was no pricing or availability information given in the press release, but we’ll probably see these in Germany this summer.
