Another Eye-Fi product wins CES 2009 Last Gadget Standing contestIn addition to meeting with folks and browsing the show floor at CES, I also make sure to attend the Last Gadget Standing competition event. I wasn’t able to make it to CES this year and when I went searching around for the winner I thought I was finding the wrong articles in my searches because this year’s winner is a variation of the same product that won in 2008. The Eye-Fi wireless card won in 2008 and this year the Eye-Fi Video Card won. This new version supports wireless uploading of both still and video files to your PC or selected websites.

The new Eye-Fi Video card is actually still in development and not yet available for purchase. Like the previous Eye-Fi card (there are actually four different models) the new Video card is in a Secure Digital format with an integrated WiFi radio. I may soon have to pick one of these up for our family since all I hear about this gadget is that it rocks.

The online winner was actually the HeartMath emWave PSR device while the Eye-Fi Video Card was the crowd favorite at the CES live presentation. The HeartMath is a biofeedback device that monitors your heart rate and breathing and presents the data to you so you can help relieve stress.

The ten selected finalists vying for the title were:

  • emWave PSR
  • Eye-Fi Video Card
  • Motorola MotoZine ZN5
  • Bug Labs BUG
  • WowWee Joebot
  • Livescribe Pulse Smartpen
  • Pure Digital Flip MinoHD
  • T-Mobile G1
  • Clickfree Transformer USB cable
  • MSI Wind U100

You can view the online poll results to see how your favorite ended up in the competition. There were some very worthy products on the list and I have a three of them myself (T-Mobile G1, Flip MinoHD, and MSI Wind).
