There should be lots of mobile news coming out of Florida this week as CTIA Wireless 2007 kicked off today. There are some very famous keynote speakers including ex-Presidents George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton. HTC was out of the gates early with their announcement of the upcoming HTC Shift and Advantage devices. Sony Ericsson also made a couple of announcements today, including a couple new devices with one running the new Mobile Services Architecture (MSA).

The new Sony Ericsson Z750 runs the new Java Platform 8, which supports new Java programming features like instant messaging/chat and presence-based functionality, mapping, and secure encryption technology.

SE Z750The Z750 is a clamshell form factor feature phone that is the first Sony Ericsson device to support HSDPA in North America. Given that it is HSDPA, we can expect the device to be released from Cingular. The Z750 has a 2.2 inch display, 2 megapixel camera, integrated FM radio with RDS (very cool), push email support with Exchange ActiveSync, and integrated Bluetooth for hands-free connections. You can listen to tunes stored on a Memory Stick Micro card. The Z750 will be available in the 3rd quarter of 2007, which is a common theme with all of these CTIA announcements.

Sony Ericsson continues to update their Walkman phone line with the announcement of the W580 device. This is a very slim slider music phone (14mm thick) that includes a 2 megapixel camera, Memory Stick Micro expansion slot, integrated FM radio with RDS support, and integrated Bluetooth 2.0. Music fans may like this device with its TrackID music recognition software and Disc2Phone music management software that helps you get tunes on your phone.
