I am still testing out the Apple iPhone, but I am also discovering that it is basically a feature phone with iPod functionality that is missing basic phone functions and many smartphone functions. Granted it isn’t really designed for power users like me, but the dang interface keeps drawing me in. There is another device that I have been seriously thinking about that I just discovered is available from Dell and that is the Nokia E90 Communicator. The listed price is just under US$900 and after adding it to my cart and seeing I have to pay tax the total is just under US$1,000. I am thinking of selling off my E61i to offset the cost and may go for it if I can find a Dell coupon.

Nokia E90

The major aspects of the Nokia E90 that I find appealing are the large amount of available RAM (128 MB), the high quality 3.2 megapixel camera, the awesome keyboard, the integrated GPS, and all the other goodies found in S60 3rd Edition. Thanks to IntoMobile for helping to make my iPhone return decision a bit easier.

In other Nokia news, they just announced a new Bluetooth speakerphone, the HF-300, that serves as a speakerphone and wireless car kit. The HF-300 uses DSP and auto power off features to make it simple and powerful to use. It has a sunvisor clip so you can easily mount it in your car and has up to 20 hours of talk time. It will be available in the 3rd quarter of 2007 for EUR90.

UPDATE: I just placed an order for the Nokia E90 from my favorite online store, Buy.com, since I had a 4th of July 7% off coupon and I know I can trust them. The total cost, with shipping, was US$762. That is a STEAL for this device and after I sell my E61i for aboiut US$350 or so then it was a very simple choice. There is no availability date though so I could be waiting for a while for it to come, but I can be patient for a device like this.
