i-mate announced several new devices that would be coming in 2007 back in February and many sites are now reporting that three of the five models may have been canceled. I just confirmed with my i-mate source that this news is not true, was based on a resellers information, and that there are actually six Ultimate devices scheduled for release. The current plan is to launch 4 at GITEX and the other 2 in early 2008. There was no news on pricing or availability so we will still have to wait to see when and where these devices show up.

I’m looking forward to seeing the clamshell model with the QWERTY keyboard and my wife is hoping for the clamshell Smartphone model since we haven’t seen clamshell Smartphones since the problematic Motorola MPx220
