The Nokia N95 8GB is now shipping
I keep going back to the Nokia N95 and find it a very capable smartphone, with a couple of issues (battery life and RAM) that are fixed with the Nokia N95-3. The N95-3 also adds 3G for U.S. owners (AT&T only) so it looks like a great upgrade from the N95. Nokia just announced that the N95 8GB is now shipping and should be available to consumers very soon. I was debating about getting one of these with the 8GB flash drive, but think I should get the N95-3 with the 3G support since I can easily add a 6GB microSD card for less than the price difference in the two devices.
However, the N95 8GB also has a larger 2.8 inch (240 x 320) QVGA display and new front button design so these are attractive features the N95-3 (2.6 inch display) doesn’t have. The N95 8GB has an estimated retail price of EUR 560 before taxes or subsidies. The N95-3 can be found online for about US$650.
Nokia also announced that SpiderMan 3 would be shipping on the N95 8GB in select markets. Check out the N95 8GB site for all the details on this latest high-end multimedia computer.
So the choice comes down to high speed on the go with HSDPA and removable memory versus a larger display, EDGE data, and integrated 8GB capacity. If you had to choose between a Nokia N95-3 or N95 8GB, which one would you go for?
