BlackBerry Pearl coming to T-Mobile USA next week
The rumored BlackBerry Pearl is no longer a subject of internet rumors as RIM and T-Mobile officially announced the BlackBerry Pearl 8100 that will be available starting on 12 September. The Pearl actually looks like a very attractive device with a thin and sleek form factor, especially for a BlackBerry device. Specs of the Pearl include a quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE radio, 64MB flash memory, microSD slot, Bluetooth 2.0 radio, RIM SureType keyboard (similar to the one first released on the 7100 series), 240×260 color display, 1.3 megapixel camera, and more. The Pearl should retail for US$199 with a 2-year contract and it may be the device that gets me to try the BlackBerry platform once and for all. I need to see how the web browser works before I give up my Nokia and Windows Mobile devices though as I heard previous BlackBerry devices lacked in the wireless browsing area.
