New TalkBack feature

A quick administrative note for all the folks who read the Open Source blog. ZDNet Blogs is now using the same TalkBack software used by ZDNet News.

The next time (or first time, everybody’s welcome) you post a comment, you will need to register first if you’re not already registered with a ZDNet TalkBack account. TalkBacks are displayed in a threaded tree instead of a long list of comments, so they’re a bit easier to browse and find new comments if you’ve been participating in a long discussion. If you’ve already signed up for a TalkBack account, then you can jump right in.

We’ll still continue to use TrackBacks and PingBacks from other blogs, so if you comment on one of our posts on your own blog (which we also encourage) they’ll be displayed here just as before.

Have a comment about the TalkBack feature itself? Head over to Between the Lines (Dan and David’s blog) and let them know what you think. Thanks for reading!
