Alfresco launches new community edition, web design tool for CMS
A top open source content management system provider today launched the final edition of its free community edition with many features of its enterprise edition as well as a new web site development tool.
Alfresco said the new community edition — Alfresco Labs 3.0 Stable — features CMIS and SharePoint protocol support, OpenOffice and MediaWiki content and integration with Joomla! sites. It also incorporates the company’s Surf framework and Alfresco Share collaboration program as well as the new web studio tool that was announced today.
Alfresco’s Web Studio is visual drag and drop tool that allows users to build custom websites using the company’s SURF platform. Business customers can develop custom web sites (from the included web component library) that leverage the company’s popular content management system.
