Google search suffers outage

For a period of time today, searches on Google incorrectly reported every Internet site as being unavailable due to the presence of malware.

Here’s a screen capture of a Google search for ZDNet:

I’ll update this page when we have more information.

Update 1/31/09, 10:10am EST: Google news and blog searches seem okay. The problem is only with Internet site searches.

Update 1/31/09, 10:30am EST: Everything seems back to normal. That was a serious outage but they repaired it quickly.
